ABOUT US: Vängåvan's operations consist of playgrounds, leisure activities, and youth centers, operated as a parent cooperative by the association Vängåvans Vänner. Vängåvan is located in a lush playground with climbing structures, park environment, and splash pool in the middle of Stora Essingen on Kungsholmen. There are good connections with both buses and the light rail. Here we run leisure activities for fourth, fifth, and sixth graders and currently have about 200 middle school children enrolled. We have a youth center one to two evenings a week, and the playground is open every weekday. We are passionate about learning and making everyday life a little more fun and smarter. We work closely with all schools in the area, collaborating with local associations and entrepreneurs. We enjoy working together and are looking for another colleague to join our happy team.

JOB DESCRIPTION: We are looking for someone who is bursting with energy, is confident, and loves to work for the development and future of our children and youth.

We want you to have documented experience working with children and youth and a passion for this. You enjoy all leisure activities, creating, crafting, playing both wild and cooperative games with the children, playing board games, and playing ball. You are a clear, friendly, and confident educator who is social and approachable. We see that you, like us, are playful and solution-focused and have experience leading larger groups of children and youth.

At Vängåvan, we love to further develop our operations and learn new things. Therefore, we are looking for someone with a reflective working method and an interest in developing as an educator. In the role of leisure leader, you will have overall pedagogical responsibility for leading games and sports activities based on Vängåvan's values, as well as working with planning, follow-up, and evaluation of the goals set by the organization. You work to ensure that every child has a fun and meaningful leisure time based on their circumstances. You have the ability to create good relationships with colleagues, children, youth, their guardians, playground guests, and relevant associations and organizations.

REQUIREMENTS: You should be able and willing to participate in all common leisure activities and have the ability to be a natural leader in these contexts.

Have a pedagogical approach and be able to work in a low-arousal manner in all situations.

Experience working with children and youth and experience leading children's groups and/or play.

Some administrative experience and good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish. Knowledge of French is an advantage.

You should be able to handle light cooking, kitchen routines, and related hygiene routines as we prepare our own snacks. Openness and interest in aesthetic expressions are also advantageous since we offer this daily.

DESIRABLE: Ongoing or completed pedagogical education.

Work in camp activities.

Experience in pedagogical and/or social work.

Experience working in platforms such as Skolplattformen, Unikum, Förskoleappen.

Knowledge of French as we receive students from Lycee Francais Saint Louis.

Any language skills beyond Swedish are advantageous.

EXTENT: Part-time and immediate start (earliest February 1). The position is 70% with a great chance for more hours. Working hours are from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. This position includes some mornings a week + afternoons. 5 days a week.

The position can become larger if you substitute for our evening activities, if you can sometimes take shifts from the morning, or if you are willing to work weekend shifts occasionally. The evening activities consist of a youth center 1-2 evenings a week, and one evening a week the playground is open in the evening for grades 5-6. On weekends, we sometimes rent out the premises and have staff on site who work with maintenance and planning of our operations. Salary according to agreement. Selection is ongoing.
